    Wilder LMA Manager of Year

Posted by Pilkinhio on 15/5/2019, 9:22:19

Wins LMA manager of the year, back to back promotions. In acceptance speech says theyíve struck a blow against the cheque book culture.

Teaching, coaching and improving players - to be fair Norwich did the same.

accrington did it in league 2, we did it last season. Why canít we do it next season too?

A well coached young and hungry talented group beats fat wallet ex premier league big heads with a bad attitude and over expectant fans.

There was a mixed reaction to Mick's win.

          Are they OK in Barnsley?

Whether agreeing about Mick or backing their man they all seemed to give sensible reasons for their viewpoints.

This isn't how you do club messageboards lads

This one gets a couple of key things right:

How is this possible He Took over an established side in February up at the top of the league and stayed there Stendel took over the youngest side in the division introduced a new style of play lost his assistant and still managed to get the team promoted oh and he was manager the whole season ! Or am I just biased.

Yes, you are biased. And the capital H is definitely correct.

But he took over in January, and the team were second at the time.

There was one post which mentioned their achievements, fair play, but included 'unbeaten at home', which we managed to do too, but wasn't mentioned.

Agree with most of that but he hasnít won back to back promotions at Sheffield United. They have had two years in the Championship. I suppose that you could argue that he had back to back promotions with Northampton in 2016 and Sheffield in 2017. Still an impressive record - three in four years.

A well deserved win, I think. And with 'his' club, which makes it all the better in a fluffy emotional way.

It's really encouraging to see them and Norwich succeed (neither of them clubs I tend to like, both prone to wearing yellow!) after watching the likes of Wolves bend/break the rules to buy their way to the top.

Most Champ sides are not packed full of ex-Prem bigheads, though.

a lot of them bring up the fact that he was only in charge for half a season forgetting that he was involved for the whole season and recruited a lot of the team that won the title and was regularly involved in training.
and for any barnsley reading this it was also pointed out by one of yours that the title winners contained four ex barnsley (rejects), do you think maybe you shouldn't have rejected them.
