              The obvious flaw to your "fact" though is that unemployment rates were calculated on a very different basis then as to what they are now. So, in fact, they are incomparable. Like comparing apples with pears.

                  Don't know all the figures but I do know that nowadays you don't even have to have work to be classed as employed. A basic zero hours contract classifies you as being employed. Similarly, it used to be a case simply of those being unemployed were counted. nowadays (and has been the case for at least 20, if not longer but not as long as 1975) you have to be out of work AND claiming benefits to be considered unemployed.

                    Also, if you were unemployed and on a government training scheme in 1975, you were counted as unemployed. Now they count you as employed.

                      I work 20 hours a week sometimes 24.5, my thinking is its twice what i would get on the dole-yeah its working but really on those hours its half working ,

                        I'm a new man now I've hit 40 chum. Time to treat this body like a temple. I imagine I'll be getting alot of attention off the ladies this summer the way I'm going.
