    Crowd at Sunderland - 26,000

Posted by Qwerty on 11/5/2019, 21:54:16

I'm shocked - aren't they the biggest club ever?
Most important game of the season and nowhere near sold out - odd

Well there you have it it’s not the size of the ground iTs the people who fill it,we maybe a smaller club but we have a lot more loyal support considering where we’ve been

Very surprised at that, we could have sold something like that for our last game of the season.

Pretty shocked at the attendance when they got 38,000 for Luton's game up there. They had 41,000 for the game vs Pompey there only a few weeks ago too. A 15k drop!

Portsmouth wanted more tickets, but we’re refused.

True. And yet they couldn't even shift the 2k they were given.

Nit surprising given the ridiculous scheduling and distances involved.

I think it was 15,000 more for the league game just a few weeks ago.

Saturday night, on sky, the temptation to stay in the pub would be to much for a lot of fans, just go to Wembley instead, if they get there

Limiting Pompey to 2k away fans didnt help

Apparently some Portsmouth fans wore bell-bottoms to the last game and it infuriated the Mackems.

I assume Pompey would easily have taken 5-6k?

They didn’t sell the 2k allocation, so I doubt it.

Not to mention attacking their grannies and children. What a laughing stock.

The problem for away supporters is getting home after the game. Also that area is full regrading overnight accommodation due to stag/hen nights plus Rugby final. I GUESS what was left was priced high.
Home fans are just pissed off for not walking away with the title a bit like us when we went down to the conference
They will be back if they reach the final

Mate that analogy is simply not true regarding attendance.
The last home game of the season we had just over 7000 at home. The attendance we had in simple terms was magnificent when you think we had been relegated with -30 points. Sunderland on the other hand are chasing promotion via the play offs. Its pretty shit on their part that their support has fallen away in arguably one biggest games of the season.
Remember when they came down here at the start of the season they were giving it the big one. Who's giving the big one now.
I'm beginning to think the geordies are right about them not being able to fill their stadium.
