Isn't there a 60% wage to turnover cap in League two? How on earth will Salford, with that forward on a reported 4k a week, comply with that?

Probably a dodgy sponsorship deal, the same as Peterborough did.

Rooney is unavailable for today's game after pulling a muscle taking a penalty in the shoot-out in the semi-final.

Apparently they were expecting 700 from Fylde and 2000 from Salford. Looks as though you can buy promotion but not support. If that is all they can manage for the biggest game in the history of either club, it doesn't say a lot for the chances of getting decent attendances for routine league games, whichever team goes up.

Interesting isn't it that both those teams have recently been bankrolled with relatively little or significant history. They are also both from the North-West, a good 3.5 hours from Wembley at least, so that might also have had some bearing on the attendance figure.

But, still, for the sake of argument, imagine a Wrexham v Hartlepool final. Both teams a long way from Wembley but with history and tradition. Both teams would probably muster up at very least 10k each.

Why would someone pump in money into Fylde,? you have Blackpool, 5’miles away and Fleetwood, Preston not too much further.

Surely better investing in a city who have never had a league team, Wakefield or Chelmsford?

But, as I said, it is by far the biggest game in the history of either club. Can't see them taking too many to Exeter for a routine league game !

Certainly looks like it. Could have held it at Accrington
