    Unbeaten Run

Posted by Teabag on 13/4/2019, 22:00:32

If my memory serves, didn't Reading come to the Kenny, many seasons ago, on the back of a massive unbeaten run ? We beat then, to end that run. Can anybody remember when it was ? What was the score ? and if Reading went on to be promoted ?

I like the memory of Man Utd coming to the Kenny after winning the first 10 games of the season and we got a 1-1 draw and really should have won. I think that stopped them beaten a Spurs record. Maybe?

Paul Elliot missed a sitter to win the game if my memory is right.

85-86. Paul Elliott missed an absolute sitter to win it late on.

I was in the Oak and never really appreciated how close that chance was but my school mate who was with me (a Utd fan) looked at me and laughed like he'd just dodged a bullet! The twat!

Ah well, as was always the case back then they went on to bottle the league as soon as Robson got injured.

So bullet undodged in the end

2006 3-2 pretty sure it was a Friday night on Sky, they pissed the league that year

We will be fine, it feels worse because we've all forgotten what losing is like. But Id much rather feel like I am than being used to losing and be mid table

Even in the Conference winning season, we lost one of our run-in games - 0-1 at home to Woking I think.

And 3-2 at home to Braintree - we then got promoted when Kidderminster beat Cambridge a few days later.

                        So... it CAN be done!

And it will be. Just a bit frustrating having to wait.
