    The stadium news tomorrow

Anyone else resigned to a false dawn?

"We'll have news of yes or no meeting before the end of May 2019"

Kicking the can down the road to please the overlords at C&aRse.

              I can't see it. I've lost faith.

Got a negative feeling, as out of the blue the council will say something, but it's taken the supporter groups to go public with their grumbles to get this quick date.

If we get knocked back, it's gonna be the worst news in our history.

There is an argument that - If LBC were minded to knock us back then they would done so 2 years ago instead of dragging this out, keeping peoples hopes up and costing everyone lots of unnecessary expense.

                        That may be trye.

However, I suspect they're simply afraid of making a decision one way or another. My hunch is that they want it but are scared shit of C&R and are paralysed by fear.

They are ready to make a decision.

You can't complain about it being delayed for a few months and at the same time that it might get knocked back imminently.

There will be a decision either way on the date announced tomorrow

They might mention a date, but, given recent history that date will probably come and go with some bullshit excuse.

                          I'm not holding my breath.

Every time some really positive news is announced there is deafening silence from the council. I'm certainly hoping for the best but realistic too.

It's the date of the council planning meeting.

If they turn it down, it sets us back years, this whole process is far more important than anything on the pitch.

This decision is like 100 derby days, a Littlewoods Cup and return to the Football League combined in importance.

This is the decision that decides if our children, grand children and their children have a Luton Town FC to support in any decent standard.

Fact is in the current state LTFC can bumble around league 1 and 2 for eternity without a new stadium. We have an indefinite rent free agreement with the council based on turnover/profit. Providing we have board members prepared to lose money. The new stadium will enable us to punch our weight in the Championship and dream of of the PL. It's not the end of the world if we don't get PC but it's the end of the dream, for now.

The club I fukked without that stadium.

Kenilworth Road is way past its use by date, the main stand will not hold out or pass health & safety forever.

This will cost lots of money as it is.

Luton the joke away ground for all the clubs in the football league a root cause of peoples perceptions of the town is what they see when outsiders visit the stadium and its surroundings.

We probably don't have board members prepared to throw lots of money away every year for another 20 years.

Also you can't bumble around in a ground which is falling apart forever and has shit facilities.

This is totally gutting, my opinion no better deal will be put on the table, it took 2020 like 6+ years of ownership before they finally announced these wonderful plans.

5 years in non league all that chaos and hurt, and now we are on the up, the worst town in the country (as voted by the nation) might turn it's nose up at the chance to have something to be proud of for the future, for the youth and for Luton a town bereft of facilities that bring in anything on a national level.

Yep and I'll be totally gutted with you but it won't end the club we'll be a lower league club until something else comes along. We'll still have a team to support we just won't be playing the likes of Villa and Forest. For now though let's just think positive and thank God for 2020!!!!

He's getting dates confused with months.

He's only 43, to be fair.

What do you mean it would set us back years..it would kill us off.

You know what I mean on that, it kills hope of a bright future, it means struggling by without that hope we have had building since 2020 announced this stadium plan.

We are built as a team ready for Championship football with these players, with our manager ambitious to see this project through to fruition, but what happens if that fruition is put back to square 1? It means he'll go sooner, the club won't be able to attract the calibre of players as we did with Bradley & Pearson.
