It was a red card issued to him, so I was correct in saying Hyltons(refering just to him) I hope that is clear enough for you to understand

In referring to him you should have typed Hylton`s as it was his. Do you know what an a apostrophe is and furthermore do you understand it? No, thought not.

I think you are wrong, “its” is a possessive form of the pronoun it; his, her, its. “It’s” is a contraction of it is or it has (non possessive).

              A Good Rule of Thumb:

If you can replace it with his or her, there's no apostrophe.

I believe in this case we can substitue “hyltons four game ban is ridiculous ...” to “his four game ban is ridiculous ”. I don’t think “hylton’s 4 game ban is ridiculous..” sounds correct as “Hylton has a four game ban is ridiculous...”

              Discuss 😬

But the possessive form of a name uses an apostrophe; therefore Hylton's ban (the ban pertaining to Hylton) is correct.

                    This is the case.

Homer's a twat or Homers a twat? You decide.

In case of difficulty, even if there were two Homers, the apostrophe would still be necessary (although in a different place).
