    Stuart Moore

Just listened to NJ's post-match interview. His reference to Moore's performance seemed to me to have a real (and justified) bitterness about it. It obviously still rankles with NJ that Moore threw away our advantage over Blackpool in both play-off legs and possibly set back his plans by a year. Having said that, it certainly taught NJ a lesson about the perils of loan keepers. Thankfully he has demonstrated that he is an incredibly fast learner as a new, young manager and IMO is going from strength to strength.

Surely he's too much of a God botherer to hold a grudge and not forgive?

Blackpool scored 6 and the defending was shit for all of them but the keeper gets the blame as usual.

Goalies do often get blamed when the reality is that they were left exposed by the defenders but he was terribly at fault for 2 if not 3 of the goals.

He was terribly at fault for their 5th... and badly positioned for 1st I thought.

But the all round team defending was poor for all of them....

Fair comment but he was always an accident waiting to happen - from that early goal against Cheltenham in his debut (which caused NJ immediately to recruit Macey) onwards. NJ clearly didn't like what he saw that game but ended up being stuck with him when Macey got recalled.

That was a horrible game against Cheltenham. I was sat by some right numpty too who kept elbowing me. So close to smashing him with his walking stick I was.

Absolutely, but didn't Walton also make a few errors early on?

But at start of season they are not as crucial.

Maybe but obviously there was something about Moore's performance in that Cheltenham game which caused NJ to rush out and get a replacement. That judgment was vindicated by Moore's performance in the Blackpool games and that's perhaps why there was the rather sarcastic incredulity at Moore's performance last night!

Against Cheltenham I distinctly remember that right at the start a long kick from their keeper nearly caught him out. To be fair it took an amazingly high bounce off the pitch so not his fault but I saw the look on his face just after and he was terrified. I think that was the moment that probably set the tone for his time with us unfortunately.

and for the 6th he didn't come for it as he was shot after the 5th goal... but even then the only way they managed to score was that idiot Cook kicking the ball against Moore's back and it rebounding into the net

Bit harsh calling Cook an idiot for that. Hus gut reaction was to stop the ball going in and stuck out his leg and achieved that. Don't think Cook, nor Moore, can be blamed for that passage of play.

I entirely agree that he is not a bitter person but listen carefully to the interview. No other explanation. I don't blame him and I think from a man who is not a bitter person it shows that he really feels that Moore lost us a golden opportunity of being in League 1 a season earlier.

The irony being that the last time he played at Kenilworth Road his howler for Blackpool's second goal was crucial in us ending up losing on aggregate.

I walked away from that game thinking, that was a shame. Thought it wasnít fair to blame the keeper, as he was still learning his trade.

NJ obviously didn't think that as he does usually stand by young players learning their trade who make a mistake but instead he gave him a vote of no confidence by immediately signing Macey.

Walton was recalled by Brighton on 31st Jan - the last day of the window and the night of the Cheltenham game.
As we know Moore played and I got home to find that Macey had also signed that evening.
