Sorry about the extremely late reply!
What’s going on is extremely unnecessary and a tragic waste of life of course. I don’t think the moving of the US embassy to the Israeli capital has any bearing on what is going on though. There have been numerous violent actions instigated by Hamas/PA without any particular motivation behind it in the past. Their hatred of the Jews is all they need and as long as they keep paying Arab Israelis to commit acts of terrorism towards the Jews it will keep on happening.
I don’t know if you heard of the PA’ presidents (Abbas) latest rant against the Jewish state when amongst other grotesque things, calling the Jews responsible for the holocaust, but this just shows what Israel is up against when dealing with such an evil enemy.
I don’t for a minute think Israel is perfect, but it is very unfortunate the way everybody is so quick to judge the Jewish state and completely ignore those on the other side who have shown no intention of coming to the diplomatic table to negotiate peace for the last several decades.
As long as the PA refuses to acknowledge the Jewish state and prefer conflict to diplomacy then there never will be peace. The Arab Israelis will continue to be pawns in the PA/Hamas propaganda campaign (which gullible fools continue to fall for) and more and more innocent lives will be lost

I fully admit to not understanding the total picture but the day the Palestinians normally protest is the 15th May and they brought this forward to the 14th to coincide with the opening of the US embassy . This resulted in the horrific events which are the worse they have been for many years so I can't help but feel the two are connected .It also seems totally uneccssary and inflammatory . So my question is why they moved the embassy ?
I understand the Jews feel threatened and much of what they do is understandable - tanks versus stones is less difficult to understand .

The embassy’ always used to be in Israel’s capital Jerusalem until predictable Arab violence got them moved to Tel Aviv back in the 80’s. But the idea was to always move them back to the capital city Jerusalem but nobody dared rock the boat and kept putting the date back year after year until Trump’ administration finally had the backbone to do the right thing.
There have always been protests and the embassy move is just an excuse to cause violence by a group of troublemakers who think it’s ok to also drag their kids into the danger. Who in their right mind does that? Using their own children to risk getting killed just to aid Hamas’ propaganda mission. Hamas do the same thing by firing rockets out of schools in Gaza hoping that Israel will blow up the location and and hopefully loads of Arab children.
Hamas are their helpers are the villains in this but predictably the news takes the side of the Arabs because they are perceived as the underdogs ‘throwing stones’

When was the US embassy in Jerusalem previously? It was opened in Tel Aviv in the 1960s. What are your sources for the date you give?

There was a US consulate in Jerusalem in the late 1940s. The consul was kidnapped around the time that another ambassador, from Sweden, was assassinated - by the Stern gang. Also responsible for the murder of many British diplomats.

The Stern gang were Zionist extremists. An inconvenient truth for some.

Saw a photo with a Palestinian childs head blow apart- his crime was likely throwing a few stones-
made me shed a tear-I recall many a riot on the streets of Belfast with petrol bombs and stone throwing, most were handled without shooting people dead

Actually, weird bloke, this is evil: Collective Punishment - ethnic cleansing - abusing & torturing children - assassinating innocent women & children - imprisoning minors - the denial of basic human rights - destroying crops - shooting fishermen & destroying their boats - poisoning water - spraying toxic waste on communities - denying medical care - stealing land & homes - closing schools - genocide...
