    Elliot Lee

Bit of an unsung hero this season IMHO. Hylton and Collins have scored more obviously but Lee has the best goals to minutes ratio by some distance.

    League goals only:

    Danny Hylton - 20 goals - 2865 minutes played - goal every 143 minutes

    James Collins - 19 goals - 3077 minutes played - goal every 162 minutes

    Elliot Lee - 10 goals - 1220 minutes played - goal every 122 minutes

Lee hasn't really had a proper extended run in the team. He started consecutive games for the first time in mid-November, and started 5 games in a row then (he completed the 90 only in the first start, subbed in the other 4). Since then, he had not started consecutive league games until just recently, starting with Mansfield and being in the XI since. That's a really decent goal return under those circumstances.

I think he's adapting to the new role at the #10 position nicely. It didn't work perfectly against Mansfield, and yet he could/should have scored a one-on-one just before their goal in the first half, and was unlucky not to score early in the second (denied by a fine save from the Mansfield keeper). He could have had another on Saturday against Crewe as well. But moreover against Crewe I thought he linked the play really well, got on the ball and ran at defenders and generally looked our most potent threat until he tired in the second half. And he tired because he worked his bollocks off, tracked back and supported the midfield a lot more than you might expect.

It'd be nice to see him start the last three games and really try and nail that position down as his own, he's too good to be a squad player and is less suited to an impact sub role than, say, Cornick with his blistering pace. I really like him, think he's got bags of ability and maybe dropping a bit deeper is ideal as his lack of pace and/or power can occasionally be highlighted as an out and out striker.

Not unsung at all by me.

      I think he's utter class.

And he scored our goal of the season

Even in the Checkatrade games he gave everything.

He's a very decent player and would be in the first eleven of just about any other team in the League apart from Wycombe.

          Agree.

He's also the only player I've seen who plays that close to the ground. Must be a nightmare to tackle.

              +1

He's a tremendous asset to the team - looked very peeved to be taken off on Saturday, and I don't blame him given the limited opportunities he has had and the consistency of his performances and goals (what a cracker that was v Crewe too!)

                  Haha!

I saw Pelly's goal in the Nick Owen bar - Shep had got me a pint but it was nearly kick off time before I could get in there!

What's your ETA on Saturday again?

Yeh, 10 years. Bloody hell, where's that time gone (Yeh i know, the conference and division 4.....). Some photos knocking about somewhere ain't there?

Had left my ticket at home, so cab back, picked up ticket and half bottle of rum (in the spirit of the whole jaunt), and on to the Apollo via the pub.

I dozed a bit during the quiet numbers but there weren't many of those.

Ten years have taken their toll, it would have to be a quarter bottle now.
