So much is out sourced - little is done by the council in house.
      Q. - What do we do now?
      A. - Prepare a request for expert help, delay, approved, send, delay in getting expert help, expert help arrives, incapable/unable to assess expert help so ask for other expert help to assess, and repeat, and repeat.

        ...and blame the club

...we should be in a position at the end of April to announce the date of the special Development Control meeting where the applications will be considered.

            Oh for fcuk's sake

First there was to be an announcement/determination in early 2017, then later in 2017, then by Christmas 2017, then by March 2018

Now it's April 2018. And that's just announcing a date for a pissing meeting

            Pull your fingers out LBC.

And fcuk off C&R. Just fcuk off

Pain in the arse but presumably meeting will then be May/June.

So a decision could only be 12 weeks or so away.

Am i right in thinking that Tottenham submitted their planning application at the same time that Luton did, they must be able to see that the football club are the only ones willing to develop Luton town centre and actually put money into the town.

                    And this...

...but this is not unusual for applications of this size

...is just misleading in my opinion. Over 18 months is not normal. I know C&R have contributed to that and LBC can't obviously say that but even taking that and the complexity of the applications into account, it IS unusual for something to take this long without it going to the Sec of State

Unacceptable, it's almost 2 years now. The officials and officers of LBC need to realise they work for and are paid for by us.
The people of Luton want these developments and the money and jobs they bring.

Agreed. I think LBC want to say yes. That seems obvious to me but they need to stand up and be counted

Bollocks to C&R. Say 'yes' and then we'll fight any fight that results from it

LBC must know by now whether or not they are on safe ground in terms of process and the legal stuff. That's the only thing that can send it to Judicial Review

Keep the faith, we want it, the club want, it's clear from the statement the Council want it, local MP's want it and most Luton residents want it.

Frustrating I know, but I think it's all going to be alright and In fairness to the Council they need to ensure that everything is covered to mitigate the challenge that will come from we all know where. The last thing we want is some national planning intervention that could delay matters considerably.

                          Glass half full me 😀

Yeah, I don't disagree but it's been with them for 20 fcuking months

They should know and be comfortable that everything is covered by now. As a fan base we have been incredibly patient but this is taking the piss

That intervention won't happen though. Planning has changed a lot since the Kohler days.

One of the few good things the Tories have done since 2010 was to not to intervene in planning at town/city level unless absolutely necessary. Under Eric Pickles they gave far more powers to councils.

Hope you are right, but I think there are still appeal and national inspectorate risks. It may not be the same and if not I apologise, but where I live there was a development planning application for a lot of new houses, the council rejected the application, it went to appeal, and due to a number of factors, not least hard working local residents the national planning inspector found in favour of the Council in rejecting the application, in the last 12 months.

Sorry too many words here 😳

I'm no longer a Luton resident but can't you just vote these councillors out and have some of our own stand as candidates for the power court party or suchlike..
