Everton 5-0 away. December 1982 Bailey the fullback scored from their half ball bounced over Jake Findlay's head.

I keep telling people that you have never suffered as a fab until you've seen your team lose on the beach at Braintree.

Both times in front of new managers so I went assuming the players would be up for it . . .

if you were at Villa Park 85 or Meadow Lane 92 losing at Braintree was a fun day out in comparison, surely?

            Hmmmm, I was at both.

85 no definitely not, even though I was sick for about three days afterwards I was proud of the team and knew we'd been robbed.

92 you'd have a point but I had an amazingly good night out in Nottingham for a variety of reasons.

Braintree was just pure misery and I felt embarrassed about how the team were so pathetic on both occasions.

2013 Gateshead 5 Luton 1 at Brunton Park, Carlisle. Att: 382 inc 126 lunatic Hatters.

Went on the Bobbers coach (33 on it) and by the time I got home in Barton - was even too late for last orders! WELL pished off

Histon on a Tuesday night ( Think we won 2-0.Krocka or was it Kovacks scored on his debut?)....ran out of Loo paper at half time in the Ladies, I had to make a cup of tea on a tiny trestle table in the far corner...next to a row of Conifers, where a rather large Horses head was poking through having a bit of a sniff....also bought a Burger at half time that resulted in the Shits for most of Wednesday...

The obvious ones are the ones where there was a lot at stake. Notts County, losing to AFC Wimbledon at Manchester, Everton etc but up until the game started those were great days. One away game still lives in the memory, and one of my first, is losing to Oldham in the old second division. Stuck on a big terrace with the wind howling, rain chucking it down and the whole place seemed to be covered in darkness. A lacklustre performance saw us lose 2-1. Not many of us braved the trip but those who did drifted off towards the end and left a handful of us to clap the team most of whom had run off to the changing rooms as soon as the whistle went. The only exception was Ricky Hill who walked right up to us and applauded our support. Typified Ricky. Not just a legend for being the great player he was.
Waiting around for the coach and then a long depressing journey home getting back late to a dark and deserted town centre. Had to walk back to Hockwell Ring to round things off. Aye it was grim oop north. I went back the next season too to see a 0-0 draw!!

Easy - the York first leg play off at their place.
Cold & pi55ed down all game, no roof on the away end, took hours to get dry going home and then they got the suckerpunch goal after us missing numerous opportunities.

Horrible night that'll never have to be relived *fingers crossed*.

...and the goal came from a free kick given when their player went down with no Luton player anywhere near to being close enough to have touched him. Is it any wonder that many Luton fans are happy to see them struggling when you look at the recent history involving them.

That Gillingham match was my two daughters aged 4 & 8 very first Luton game 1998-99. Took them on the Junior Hatters coach.

Stood on that open terrace getting drenched, tried to plead with a wanker jobs worth steward to ask if we could transfer through to the dry seats under cover, telling him this was my girls first game, one only 4 and they were not enjoying being saturated at all ........C**T didn't want to know and I was starting to lose it with him.......fortunately a senior steward saw what was going on and did the sensible/amicable thing - let us through!

They only went a handful of times again. Eldest was mascot v Wycombe 1999-00 1-1 and youngest, mascot at Stoke 2000 when we won 1-3, that useless Peter Thomson scored two.

Last time they went was another Junior Hatters trip to Swindon 2001, we won that one 1-3 too under BFJ.

Southampton 6-0 was 1995, my 8th and last visit to the Dell with Luton.

First 1977. Mass scrapping on the open terrace when Alan Ball scored the only goal in the 2nd minute.

                                                      Fortunately missed that one elvis.

A week later 'only' 11,857 attended v Bradford City. We won 5-0 Malcolm Macdonald scored the first of his five Luton hat tricks.

Other 4 v Reading that 69-70 season, THAT 1-5 at Hillsborough, Sheff Wed, 3-4 v Nottm Forest FA Cup 3 Replay and in his very last Luton game, 3-0 v Cardiff May 4th 1971.

I saw all 5 of them.

We were 2nd bottom in Div 4 - Lincoln were bottom! We've never conceded 8 ever since.
