...the scum when Marv scored. Midday kick off (or maybe even 11:30?) if I remember right?

Very late equaliser I remember. I remember Marv standing there in the goal right in front of us after scoring as we all went crazy! Such relief when it went in after thinking it wasnít going to happen

The previous season was the last time we've finished above them in the league.

Can't believe that was 20 year ago took a mate to his first football match and he came out and said "why did the fans spend all the whole game shouting abuse at each other?"

I remember it vividly. The return game was 0 - 4 in the September the famous day when they clapped the arrival of Police Horses.....

The return was significant for many reasons. It was my first wife's birthday who asked me the question of what is more important going to the football or spending the day with her. The fact I chose the allotments was another nail it that matrimonial coffin. Oh well onwards and upwards.

I remember a friend of mine of Apsley at the time but in Luton now demanding Lennie Lawrence was sacked for wearing a Scum scarf on the front the programme. Graham Taylor wore a Luton scarf in the same picture in a plea for rival fans to behave. Yes the same Graham Taylor who ignored child abuse at Aston Villa that is still applauded by the morally corrupt Udine division in Western Hertfordshire.

Anyway I remember super Marv facing away from goal deliberately sticking out a left leg to deflect an off target shot goalwards and sending the mass ranks of Hatters behind the goal into delirium. I remember pulling people from the floor such was the joy that the equaliser triggered.

Got home worse for ware around about 8pm.

Anyone able to upload a clip of that goal ?

That's the one! That's exactly how I remember the equaliser. I can't find a video of it (although I'm sure it must exist). He just stuck his leg out and somehow it went in. Absolute mayhem in the away end!
