I think the club and the fanbase have been very fair and patient with LBC

I know this probably would already be sorted with building work already taking place right now if it wasn't for Capital and Regional but the council now need to stop pissing about and make a decision and quickly

Ford said he wanted to kick this into the long grass - well, the council seem to helping him on that score by not making a determination for over a year and a half

The focus has to be on C&R but the council are now in danger of losing a lot of goodwill with any more delay

If there is no decision by this Cannes visit that GS refers to the club might miss out on some promising commercial opportunities

The lack of a decision is very frustrating and getting a bit ridiculous now. Just fcuking get on with it and say 'yes' to PC and Newlands and then we (fans, LBC and club) then deal with what C&R choose to do after that

There are variables coming into play here and they are all coming from Capital and Regional.
The council planners have to be extremely careful and although patience is starting to evaporate if C&R mount a challenge because the planners overlooked something then this is going to cost a hell of a lot of money and not to mention peoples jobs.
The stakes are high, no one in C&R is going to lose their living because they failed to stop this.
Just a bit more patience is required.

I get that Dan but if the council don't know if they've overlooked something or not I find that unbelievable at this stage. They have had the applications for over a year and a half

I still can't see what C&R can actually do outside of a judicial review. And surely LBC know by now whether they have done things by the legal and process book or not

The fact Liberal Democrats posted leaflets asking for peoples feelings over Power Court made me think they think it's still on the table for debate.

The Mall are the reason for the delay though.

Can't say on here but Capital and Regional are being knobs. All will become clear soon enough.
Keep the faith we have a great board of directors and the council will deliver I'm sure of that.

Agreed - LBC are making themselves look like a corrupt banana republic where you can buy whatever you want from public officials.

I've defended LBC in the past but, as you can tell, my patience has now run out

They can't keep hiding from the decision and they can't live in fear of what C&R might do in response to a 'yes'

It makes a mockery of our so-called democracy when one lone (corporate) voice can cause this much hassle when everyone else wants it all to happen

As you know, you and I think along very similar lines here.

I know one thing though, LBC will be all over the club at the end of the season when there's some glory to bask in.

I presume the full council will vote on this - the next full council meeting is next Monday and Tuesday and PC is not on the agenda. The next scheduled full council meeting after that is the 20th March.

They can arrange one with 7 days notice and can only do so once dev control have given their formal recommendation.

Who knows. Has some smartarse at the council said lets have a double celebration promotion and planning permission so they are delaying it? Probably not.
LBC's legal team didn't impress at the Local Plan hearings that were broadcast last year. They were well out of their depth and I wonder if that is causing the delay - perhaps they have asked for Counsel's opinion on everything in order to do a belt and braces job. Fair enough but keep us informed ffs.

I know we all want the right decision in preference to a quick decision, but this is taking the piss now.

I fully understand where the lion's share of the blame lies, but surely to God LBC should be able to find some balls here.

They've probably got more important things to discuss .... isn't it about this time of year that they decide how much to increase their allowances by?

Christmas, same as every year, I'd guess.
