Obsessing with progress on the pitch

Don't obsess about us being really successful on the football pitch. It's no way live.

Go to the game, have a few beers with your mates, make up song. Some weeks it'll be good, some weeks it'll be shite and every now and then it will be magic.

Basically what I'm saying is don't be like Arsenal fans.

    Congrats to NJ.

        You're a really cheery character aren't you.

His post is utterly unpretentious. He's simply saying don't get caught up about being depressed if we don't get promoted to the 3rd division this season. It's hardly Juncker forcing bendy bananas on you or whatever else gets you so wound up.

He makes a valid number pf points though, dosen't he. Perspective is everything, or you end up with your head hurting all the time. A lot of Top Eight Premiership fans are total knobs.

This season is weird cos there has never been another season when we've been in the hunt for promotion where there's been so much doom and gloom.

There's always 'kin doom and gloom. It's part of it.

*shouts at Andre Gray for havin a shite first touch as he bags his 29th and 30th of the season*

Probably a sensible way of looking at it but the pack mentality at games doesn't quite follow it.

hard to think like that as its basically been shite for 8 out of the last 9 seasons.

Depends if you go out of habit cos you always have done and don't expect a lot back for your money or don't have anything else that you like doing on a Sat afternoon.

Well yes if you've got into a negative mid set a lot of things are difficult.

                      Not really.

Some people go all the time even if they are not enjoying it, because they always have done. Some of these might spend games moaning and abusing the players.

Other people might go less often than they would do otherwise because the football isn't all that entertaining.

Some people can't seem to see the link between declining gates and the football on the pitch.

                    It's not though is it?

                    80's - brilliant.

                    90's - shite, granted.

2000's - quite a lot of it was shite - but there was 2002 and 2005.

                    2010'a - 2013/14 was good.

It's got shite mostly cos of all-seater ground and mobile phones killing most of the atmosphere which used to make up for games being shite.

Now, I'm no mathematician (and despite that including our most successful decade) that's still largely tending towards the shite...

I still thoroughly enjoyed all of the above though fwiw.

Teams parking the bus probably only happened quite recently in the scheme of things, that's what makes things shite more than anything else.
