    Window opens near the start of June Presumably clubs have an idea who they need and want

    Clubs will also have an idea of players unlikely to feature But there seems to be "block" - clubs cant really sign until they know who is leaving. So despite having the whole summer clubs are scrambling around near the start of the season or on deadline day . Just seems a bit odd.

    On that note, why on earth does the l1 season kick off a week earlier than the championship and the prem even later? L1 and championship both have the same amount of league fixtures . L1 and L2 have the jpt or whatever and enter cup competitions (and get knocked out earlier) - but they dont have international weekends, they dont have r3 and r4 blanked out (do have r1 and r2 though) -
