- He spoke movingly and eloquently again about what happened at Bournemouth and since - there was more than in the Sky interview yesterday. He's not allowed to do any exercise at all but golf has saved him, along with Harry Potter Lego and Harry Potter jigsaws!
- Because of the device he has had fitted, he has to keep his distance from magnets. They've discovered that their cooker at home has a magnet in it, so he can get out of cooking duties!
- His daughter is due to be born in 9 days.
- He said he's taking his badges with the FAW but is more interested in working with young players than being a manager or first-team coach.
- The dressing room consensus is that Man City are the best team we've played this season. He praised Rodri in particular, saying they just couldn't get near him.
- He was really interesting on the difficulty they had defending Arsenal's set-pieces from out wide, with the Arsenal attackers all starting from offside positions and waiting for a defender to panic and drop back to play them onside.
- He said how difficult Van Dijk was to mark from set-pieces and Maguire too. Told a story about how he was trying to block Maguire on a corner with him arms both held out and how Maguire grabbed one and pulled Lockyer over on top of him in a bid for a penalty.
- Asked whether it was easier to hold in the Championship without VAR, he said some referees came to them before games last season and said they'd been watching videos about how aggressively we defended corners and they would be looking out for holding.
- He talked about how Rob Edwards sat down with a couple of players, including him (I would guess this was before the Arsenal game), and decided that as everyone thought they were going down anyway, they should stop dropping off and play the 'Luton way' by getting in opponents' faces. That's when things changed.
- He contrasted yesterday with the game at Old Trafford, when the players came away thinking they'd shown Man U too much respect.
Mark Chapman, who I think is the best football presenter out there, at least on radio, was asking the questions, and Chris Sutton and the journalist Rory Smith were also on.
There were lots of other tidbits and it's two hours that are really worth listening back to on Sounds or watching on iPlayer.
