You may have seen the photo of the lads on Luton Railway station off to sign up at the beginning of the First World War. They are nearly all wearing boaters...well they signed up for the 24th Londons (The Queen's Regiment of old). In May 1915 they took part in a charge against the Hun and a poem was written, below. One of those wounded was Harold. C. Squires who played for Luton Amateurs and whose father captained Luton Excelsior. His grandson is a LTFC fan.
