THE REPUBLICAN SMEAR MACHINE mislead the public. this was very effective. first they smear and bleed different explanations for the iraq war, thus blurring the reason we're there. at this point terror is the cause of every negative aspect of the bush record..somehow. this allowed him to neutralize the war, minimilize the adverse impact, and make it a non-issue. the war in iraq is now the central war on terror. it's wrong. first, its WMD. (wrong, no wmd). then it's for democracy. (wrong , b/c it became the reason afterward, very convenently) then its terror, b/c it's the central front on the war on terror.(wrong, b/c there is no connection between 9/11 and iraq.) outright untruths by our representatives in office. by the way, people that watch fox...60% of em think iraq had WMD. 2. kerry didn't go after common STEREOTYPES, and the LIBERAL tag strong enough. i.e taxes. over and over bush says kerry is gonna raise taxes when kerry said he would not. over and over kerry said otherwise, but it wasn't enough. 3. FOX news and biased, CONSERVATIVE media, and the like. FOX have such a vested interest in the outcome. watch "outfoxed". 1 for every 5 poltical analysts on FOX is liberal. the rest are conservatives. the liberals are wacky and weird ones too. nice. not a fair margin. its simply propaganda.they feed the public with bush's lies. 4. the RIGHT ANTI KERRY SQUAD. it is just simply wrong to attack a veteran in this country on the basic merits of putting his life on the line. see swift boats. its disgraceful. we all know it. bush people focused on attacks on kerry. it became more a question of kerry's character then bush's record. 5. CULTURAL WAR, FEAR, and partisanship. the thing that alarms me is how all states in the last two elections(except NH) all fell the same way, politically everytime. there is a cultural war, no doubt. the conservatives lay claim to the heartland, that which is interpreted as defining america as a whole. this is b/c it is mainly white, conservative, and people that are fearful of things: gays, minorities, eccentric artists, non-nascar fans, liberals, city folk, etc.. they don't relate to them. looking back Howard Dean attacked that perception. remember the southern flag issue? he attacked the notion of voting for bush is good for a guy in kansas making 35K. economically speaking. .those are sterotypes and dean wanted to penetrate the deep south. so..... the left needs to embrace itself and not be fearful of not reaching the conservatives. the right doesn' want it. let it be. the left has to take it. the left has to lay waste to old stigmas and categorizing and labeling etc.. it is a fight for what defines america. the right wants to define it. the left now has to try. the right has really let me down. there is nothing worse than the bush record. nothing... and for him to pull the majority vote? its plain to see that the bush record was the least considered aspect of the race.

here are a few reasons i suspect bush won. warning: this is bound to be labeled as "whining" to some of u.. and wacky, liberal, radical stuff. right on.
i blame bush for selling it and voters for buying it. why doesn't kerry actually say that bush is lying? and second of all he could have spoken as plainly as possible that cutting taxes like bush is known for , and what repubs are known for, is not the easy answer it appears to be for people's happiness. b/c what good is it if every other expense goes up? nothing. over and over attack that misinterpretation, plainly, and with a common sense approach. people base their whole presidential decision on taxes.
they still believe that "well, the government hands out to all the blacks" et. i've heard it, believe me.that is too simplistic.
