yeah, i'd have to agree with madame here. what bothers me most is that bush gets all this credit for being strong on terror..for being resolute and decisive. but what good is it if you're making ill informed, costly, deadly decisions? how is that being tough on terror? how is first opposing the 9/11 commission, which is really quite unbelievable to me, then flip- flopping for it.. strong in the war against terror?.. opposing the homeland security department, then flip flopping for it... ignoring the pre-9/11 memo which explicity cited a threat as clear as day.. yet take no special actions to strengthen airports etc.. how is that strong in the war on "terra"?
is that there is generally a footnote that does not tell the whole story..i.e. the $87 billion vote that taken at face value might sound bad. but we all should know by now that bush can not be trusted to make good decisions for this country. in hindsight we should have questioned and demanded a plan before asking for what amounted to over 100 billion more than what bush and co. originally asked for in the war. so kerry is getting hit by the spin machine, which is par for the course in elections.
: So what do you want, 4 more years of Bush??
: He's relying on people like you to vote
: independent. Unfortunately, it's going to
: give the election to Bush. Nobody knows how
: Kerry will be as President. Im skeptical
: too, but weigh the options your given. 4
: more years of Bush? Personally, Im not
: comfortable with that. If you dont like
: Kerry, vote him out 4 years from now. Do you
: want to be in Iraq for the next 10 years? Do
: you want a draft up to age 42? Do you want
: to fight "The War on Terrorism" in
: the wrong goddamn country? I know this'll be
: a controversial statement, but Saddam was not
: the problem. He wanted to sit in his palace,
: eat bonbons and flex his muscles from time to
: time - but he was contained. If he got out
: of hand, we slapped his wrists. Bush
: couldn't catch the real enemy, so he had to
: justify what he did. Dont read into the spin
: too much. That's all.

: sure i think george bush is the worst
: president...well, ever, but i just can't find
: the will to pull the lever for kerry. he
: pisses me off more than bush because he's
: supposed to be the alternative and all i hear
: out of his camp is "i'd do the same
: thing, but i'd do it better." hey john,
: how about a little more "what he did was
: wrong and here are the reasons, and there's
: no way in hell any sane president would have
: done what bush has done." and this guy,
: who is supposed to be my alternative to bush,
: says, publicly, that even knowing what we
: know now, he would still have invaded iraq.
: wait a minute - isn't that the kind of near
: psychotic thinking that makes bush such a
: dangerous ass to begin with? and i have to
: hear Kerry say it? jesus, we're in trouble.
: not to mention that i'm still pissed off at
: the whole democratic machine for destroying
: dean. now there was a guy with some balls. he
: might have lost, but at least he would have
: lost with some integrity. at least some
: alternative views would have been put on the
: table. oh well. so i'm left with a guy who
: voted to authorize the war, who voted for the
: patriot act, and can't even summon the
: rhetorical strength to challenge a guy who
: barely has a command of the english language.
: wow. fire me up.
