About 6 years ago, she lost her beloved, bass-fishin' hubby Larry to rapid-onset Parkinson's Disease. And about 3 years ago, COPD and the Big-C made Kay mostly housebound. She was able to get online only occasionally but even weakly, she was always glad to hear of her friends.
Her daughter Janie called me this afternoon, on the way home from Slow's funeral. She was told before to let Butch know, but Janie couldn't find his number, and me because she had mine. Janie said that likely an aortic abdominal aneurysm relieved her suffering almost instantly, early Wednesday morning.
If you were on the nutfarm when she was around, then you know she could go nose-to-nose with the Kommander and everybody else. Janie said that when Kay first got sick, she expressed her unhappiness so fervently on everyone that when Kay told her she was dying and to tell us when it happened, Janie told her, "I'll just tell them, "Ding-Dong, the witch is dead!" Of course, she'd always fitted in here with us loveable curmudgeons -- LOL. Janie said she thought the world of us.
But then, Kay accepted Jesus and became a Christian, and changed, becoming completely different and all in good ways. And now she's not suffering anymore.
