It is not as bad as the first plumber said it was and only 18 feet of pipe will need to be re-routed in the walls behind my cabinets. There is no need to replace and re-route all pipes. Man, are wifey and I relieved! I am pleased with my insurance company adjuster and the professional he and the plumber he sent over at the insurance company's cost. The plumber cut a larger hole in the wall behind my refrigerator where the pipe enters the house and found a 1/2" pipe. Upon cutting the pipe, which went under the slab and to our kitchen sink and pressure testing it and the other piping, discovered the 1/2" pipe did indeed have a leak but the rest of the pipes were good. I had a small place in the floor that had a small water damage and the adjuster said he would pay ro replace the floor in the kitchen, dining room and living room since it was open and no wall between them. Since it is a reroute, the insurance company will pay for opening the wall, all plumbing and replacement and painting of the wall. Now, I do have a $1,800 deductible and I will be sent a check that at this time have no Idea how much, I will gladly work with this and accept the check. That is much better than paying 7 to 8 thousand out of my pocket! Now, I can breath a little easier.
