I sure hate to hear that
My wife and I are hopefully near the end of repairing our future retirement home after another tenant tore it up and moved out skipping on his last month's rent because "I'm afraid you won't give me my damage deposit back."
Well, DUH! Broken window, frame and all @ $500, 5 missing window screens @ $50/each, 2 missing sets of bifold closet doors @ $150/ea -- and the last month's rent cost more than twice the deposit.
I feel for you, James!
