Resizing pics for posting to forums........,...

The reason to resize pics you post on forums is to make them smaller in size so they load faster on the forums and do not take up the whole screen on your computer. Size means how much data the picture contains, not how big in inches and I do not fully understand sizing. Taking pixels from a pic reduces the resolution of a pic but is fine for viewing on forums. The size of the pic will change when resizing but is not in proportion to pixels. If the picture you want to share is 800x600 or say around 400kb or smaller, there is no need to resize before upload. The sites we use to resize pics will not upscale(make the pic larger). Forums used to force pictures no larger than 640x480 but now days you can get away with 800x600 which is what I use .
