Re: be careful
I was targeted two weeks ago. HSBC Fraud Dept phoned my mobile and asked if I had made a purchase of £1200 and quoted the last 4 digits of my credit card. I was driving to the shops so told the caller to stop the payment. He said when will you be back at your office to access your computer. Alarm bells started ring as I have seen on TV how scammers access all details on your computer by talking you through a method that allows them access to your compter. I said it would take me 45 minutes to get home and they said they would call back. In the meantime I called my HSBC bank and asked them if a payment of £1200 had gone out. They said NO. I explained about the call and they said it was a scam. 45 minutes later the scammers called back and asked if I was at my computer. I said no you ******** dirty scammer. Before I could abuse him anymore he had hung up on me. He was very very convicing and nice on the phone but was actually Scum. So if you get a call from your bank and they ask you to get on your computer (even if they know some of your details) just hang up or better still give them a mouth full before you hang up. Stay alert Cheers! Obie
