I've always thought a rail link to an outer suburban distribution centre ( Container Terminal) next to the motorway system was by far the best result viz the port area does not have to be the actual pick up location. It adds one more leg to the distribution of cargo but that is counter acted by the freeing up of expensive port space as appose to cheap outer city space and keeps the trucks off suburban streets which in itself is productive. I have 40 years in the container industry and have travelled the world seeing how the different systems work. The Rimrose Valley option is ludicrous in it's simplicity and does not now meet world standards .It's an exercise in cost cutting at it's worst and the people/employees that are pushing this through should be ashamed of themselves for their lack of foresight and their lack of qualitative research.
I'll man the barricades if I have to in order to stop making this totally ridiculous option happen . Rimrose Valley should be there for our kids, grandkids and beyond . There already is an viable option out there so let's not make them take the cheap route and destroy an historical suburb.
