The liberal elite collegiate administrations have been waiting a lifetime to put college sports in their place. This is their chance. Look who is cutting. Ivy League, Big 10, Pac 12, and small conferences where if they can't get a paycheck from the big boys they lose $$$. It's going to be beautiful when Big 10 academic departments face gigantic budget cuts with no bailouts or govt money coming their way, no athletic $$$s and pissed off alumni donors. Once capitalism is released, it's a beast that can't be contained no matter how hard they try too. Eventually, those fighting against it will go broke too.
