Hello,
I understand this is probably an odd request, however, I would like to ask a bit of information if I could. I have an antique foot-long ruler that I purchased at the estate sale of my third grade teacher who had died many years before the sale. Her mother was a teacher, and I also am a teacher in Tennessee. I would love to find out how old the ruler might be. It has the following information noted on the top:
Boys and girls, save your nickels and dimes, and when you have $1.00 start an account with:
Exchange State Bank
of Kansas City, Kansas
611 Minnesota Avenue
On the bottom of the ruler is the following:
A Table showing accumulation by weekly deposits of $1 to $5 at 3% interest per annum, compounded semi-annually.
If you could possibily help me with an approximate period of time as to when an Exchange State Bank may have been located at the above address, I would certainly appreciate it. If you might know of someone else that might be able to help, I would appreciate an address or telephone number.
Thank you very much,
Lona Brannon
