Edward is the son of Isaac Lewis Naylor who was born in Macoupin Co. Illinois in 1861. Isaac is the son of James H. Naylor born about 1827 in Kentucky. This Naylor family is found in Spencer Kentucky on the 1850 Federal Census. It includes brothers John C., James H., and Benjamin G. The father of these three brothers is reported to John Will Naylor born about 1798 in Kentucky. In 1860 and 1870 Isaac is in Macoupin IL and the surname is spelled Nailor. Edward and Ruth Welton are both in Gove County on the 1920 Federal Census before their marriage.
Edward was born in Kansas in September 1891 acording to the 1900 Smith Co. KS federal census. His parents are Isaac Lewis Naylor and Sarah Matilda Rothenburg according to a family report.
His siblings are Elmer 8/1885 KS

William 11/1894 KS
