In going over my hammer gun serial numbers I came across this one and thought some would like to know the history behind it which I thought was very interesting.
A young gentleman from Skodndal, Norway wrote to me asking if I had any parts for a hammer gun that his great-great-grandfather had left to him. During the Nazi occupation he hid it in a cave for 5 years because the Nazi's forbid anyone from having any firearms. After the Nazi's left the great-great-grandfather went and got it but it was in bad shape. At one time the barrels near the muzzle had a hole and the great-great-grandfather welded it up but his father told him not to shoot it. I put out some feelers and one gentleman said he had an extra set and gave them to me and along with other parts including a few firing pins, screws, two lock plates and a hammer sent them to him for free. The shame is I never heard back from him and it would have been nice to see how he made out with it. The great-great-grandfather had acquired the gun in New York in 1906 when he came to work in the United States because jobs were tough to find then in Norway. I have tried a few times contacting him but no answer, a shame.
