Top Lever Position

Greetings Friends,

I just received my restored my restored 16 gauge Ideal Grade. It is amazing! Anyway the release lever is now in the center position and I'm unable to close the action (see attached pics). Would someone please share the trick to release the lever so I can close the action.

just push the top lever over and install the barrels..... are the hammers cocked??? if the hammers are not cocked then cock the hammers first ..... there are instructions here and on youtube on how to cock the hammers .... Jent.

John, Jent is correct in the hammers not being cooked but I think you have bigger problems. If the top lever will not move at all there are 3 things that I can think of that are wrong. 1) the top lever spring is broken. 2) the top lever spring slipped off of the top lever notch.3) the coupler pin isn't inserted in the bolt properly. The top lever should have moved to the right upon the top lever stem being inserted in the trigger assembly.Any of the above will require a complete disassemble/ reassemble
