Report from The Southern

Just reported that Team Parker won the 16th L.C. Smith vs Parker Challenge.
235 Parker to 229 Smith.
Top gun Dr. John Truitt
Runner up David Defernelmont Sr
3rd Sterling Durham
4th Adam Pickett

That would be 3 in a row, after Team L.C. had won the previous 4 years. Well done gentlemen.

I've seen no results from the 2019 L.C. Smith vs Parker Bros. 10, 16, and 20-bore Challenge Events shot Weds. and Thursday; unless the weather interfered with the shooting.

The Hammer Gun Challenge is tomorrow.

Don't have the totaled scores, but Smith won the 10 and 16 events with Parker taking the 20. I do know that Smith and Parker both had a perfect 30 on the 16 event.

Ken: you probably saw Mills' post on the PGCA forum stating Team Smith won.

As time permits, I'll prepare a detailed write-up for our Journal to include names and scores of all winners; but briefly, Team LC lost the Challenge shootout by 6 targets and took 2nd and 4th place individual Challenge Event awards. Team Parker shooters took Top Gun and 3rd place in the Challenge. Team LC won the Hammer Gun Challenge and also captured the Top Gun and 2nd place individual awards presented in the Hammer Challenge. Team LC won the 16 Gauge and 10-bore Team events; but lost the 20-bore event. Other than failing to recapture the Challenge Cup, this was perhaps our most enjoyable Challenge Event ever, and I only sorry wish that all our members could have attended.

Congratulations to Team LC Smith on another victory in the hammer gun event! Also to their victories in the 16 and 10 events (although not official LCSCA / PGCA events)! It was a great weekend as always and great to see some new folks and sorry some regulars were not able to be there. All of us in the PGCA look forward to 2020!

Great picture! It was an event where everyone shot well, but one team got a little more. Just as it should be.

Big Boomer Award for highest score by an L.C. Smith shooter in the American Classics 10 ga. event (hammer or hammerless): David DeFernelmont, 45X48.
Dreu Bowman Award for highest score by and L.C. Smith shooter in the American Classics 20 ga. event (hammer or hammerless): Tony Tucker, 46x48.
A.H. Bogardus Award for the highest score by an L.C. Smith shooter in the Atkin, Grant, and Lang Main Event: Grant Rosser, 76x80.
Note that Grant's also won this award last year, with an identical score!
Terrific shooting by these fine gentlemen!

RESULTS FOR ALL THE SOUTHERN SXS EVENTS CAN BE FOUND AT www.southernsidebyside.com. Challenge Cup event results have not been added yet. Many L.C.S.C.A. members shot well on the Sporting courses. Congratulations to all of them!
