I see numerous semi inletted stock ads and most if not all designate pre 1913.
I cannot tell why on a FW 20 ga that the pre/post 1913 designate is an issue.
What am I missing?
Many thanks

Travis, on some of the earlier L.C. Smith's, the bottom of the receiver where the long narrow piece of wood fits the receiver some are slanted to fit into the slanted part of the receiver. Others just butt up against the receiver. It is really a touch and go when buying a stock and have it fit your receiver. The best way is if you have a factory stock and have that duplicated. The critical area is around the locks. There are some out there that can get it very close but it still takes hand fitting to get it exact.
Many thanks David
