20 GA FW field with Curtis latch

Serial # 5926 20 gauge extractor gun

I am just getting into LCs and my 1st post here. What a great gun and awesome people supporting the history and upkeep of these American works of functional art.

I bought a barreled action from a local shop and noticed the forend lug had grooves down the sides. The serial number range and grooves lead me to think this gun had a Curtis latch.

The owner at the shop said they may still have the forearms metal and would look and let me know. Maybe I will get lucky

If he can not find the metal will a standard FW 20 GA metal work?

The grooves on the side of the loop would indicate a Curtis for-end. It should still work if the "J" spring is catching on the loop secure enough.

Update on found parts

Just got back for the gun shop and so far the only thing they were able to find was the push/pull pin.

Any source that might have the capture spring (not the j spring)that slides around and holds onto the fore end lug?
