Of course anything happening in upstate New York would have a connection to Hunter Arms Co.
It was Colonie, and established in 1913. http://library.la84.org/SportsLibrary/SportingLife/1913/VOL_61_NO_13/SL6113037.PDF J. J. Farrell, well known as a leading shooting man of New York State, writes from Albany that trap shooting is booming again in the Capital District. The new Colonie Gun Club will hold an all-day tournament on Decoration Day, at 175 targets. Dr. W. A. Hudson is secretary and Farrell and H. H. Valentine managers. Later Harry Nichols was secretary.
I'm proud to report that in the 3 man team race the Hunter Gun Club (McMurchy, Lewis and Chapman) won the Dean Richmond Trophy on 66 out of 75. Luck shined on me again as I pulled the team to victory by the top score of 24, out of 25.
