does anyone have information, or examples of syracuse maker lables. i know l.c.smith did not make their own fitted cases for the guns , but they did buy cases from a supplier called "First Quality" as in the 1884 catalogue. i have a couple of these original cases as shown in that catalogue, that i have had restored along with the guns that came in them. i know i would never find original lables if they even exist, so i want to reproduce some for some syracuse guns that i have. if anyone has any information on maker lables from syracuse please share that with me, i would be most grateful.

Don, If you have a copy of one, I think I can get it reproduced. If you are interested, send it to me in an email in high resolution and the size it is.

Don, in reading your post again, you are looking for information about a label. Sorry. In my opinion for cases of the year 1884 it would be for their new bar action lock that they just came out with.
Give me a while and let me see what I can come up with.
dave, i think you have it now. i'm actually trying to see what the layout would look like. i have leather stamping tools so i can create a lable if i can see the proper layout. thanks for any help you can give. don
