I have a 1942 410. Is it chambered for 2 1/2" or 3" shells?

It should be marked on the bottom of the barrels, on the flat part that meets the frame. At least my 1936 .410 is so marked.

Thanks Tom, I looked and it was not there. This gun is in 90 % so if it was there I think it would be obvious.

It may have been ordered as a 2 1/2" chamber, or it may have just not been marked. I would check to make sure before firing a 3" shell in it. You can check it with one of the narrow pocket steel rulers. Slide the ruler along the side of the chamber wall, and you should be able to feel when it hits the forcing cone.

Bill. David Williamson, a member here, sells a great chamber gauge that wil tell ou exactly what you have. Wonderful piece of equipment. I bought a 20, 16 & 12 gauge set for chamber and choke. Well worth the $$. Jim...
