l c smith field grade 1942 mint condition

Hello I was left several shotgund from my dad and one is a L C Smith field grade from the serial number it dates to 1943 I would rate it between 90 and 95% condition. What is a fair market value on this shotgun? should I get a letter for it?

luckyyou got a lc smith made during the war...verying interesting gun not many civilan made guns made during the war years...i collect car tags and the war years are really hard to come by with such as 1942 42 44 45..... charlie

The best way to value a gun is to look at the prices that similar firearms sell for at auction. I look at Gunbroker to see what the selling price for similar firearms is before I purchase. Many of the firearms listed there do not sell as no one will pay the asking price. Carl

If it's as minty as you describe and it is a standard frame, low rib, it is probably worth $1500.

I'm going by this website and the serial number 20163*... I don't know much about sxs shotguns I got three shotguns the L C Smith a Grulla from the mid 80's and Tikka o/u
