I'm looking for some expert opinions on whether it is OK to use 2.75 dram, 1125 FPS, #8 modern shells in a 1919 LC SBT Specialty grade. Thanks for your input.

Harry;These SBT are built like a tank compared to the doubles.I shoot 2.750 x 1 moving at about 1180 through mine all the time with no problems.This is just my opinion.These are tremendous guns even compared to the fancy stuff people call Trap Guns today.Charlie.

I agree. However,I suggest you pattern the gun before expecting to run 25s. Many of these guns are bored and/or choked very tightly to accommodate the shells used back then. They might shoot very tight patterns with modern ammunition.
