Wenigs Custom Gunstocks Now Has A pre1913 Pattern

WENIG's CUSTOM GUNSTOCKS now has a before 1913 L C Smith butt stock pattern for a 12 gauge SXS that is extra long in the length of pull, if needed, high in the comb and cast off for a right handed shooter. If you are between 6 feet and 1 inch tall up to about 6 feet 6 inches tall this pattern will work for you, if you are right handed.

A blank like the one in the picture at the beginning of this thread cut out like the one in the beginning of this thread is about $600 to $800. If you have your own wood blank the cost to duplicate it is PROBABLY around $100 plus shipping plus tax. The good news is the hard part has been done. The pattern has been made and proven and given to all of the LCS collectors to use. The making of this pattern was a group effort and project by Milt Fitterman, Tom Damiani and myself. Tom has one of these blanks almost complete and finished on a LCS. If you attend the LCS Turkey Shoot at PGCS+T on Nov 5th you can see one of these blanks for yourself if you would like to, just call me and remind me to bring one with me. CAUTION----This pattern is for a LCS built BEFORE 1913 !!! Good Shooting To You, Jent

I have a 1914 field grade 12 that needs a stock. As I understand it, as it has a two piece tang it could be considered a pre 1913 pattern shotgun. If this is correct would the stock fit my gun?

I bought the standard grade FW stock in French ( same $ as black) for about 180 off their pattern. There is still lots of work to do,inletting is close outside is 1/8 or a lot more every where else. They do have a FW 20 pattern. bill

From looking at Jent's picture, picture #5 with 3053 on it. Notice that on the bottom front, there is a slant to it. Not all pre-13 guns have this slant. The early Fulton guns, up to sometime in 1893 have the straight side not slanted. If your does not, I would see if they could make it squared for you. FYI, there are also some post 1913 Regular frame guns that have the slanted front.

Wenigs has had a Pre-13 LC Smith pattern for several years now. The Adm. Peary Grade 5E was restocked by Wenigs when it was restored in 2010.
