Have a chance to purchase a l.c. smith double barrel shotgun. Believe it is a 12 gauge with 28in. barrels. By the serial number i believe it is a 1906 year. My friend wants $150. In ok shape. Worth it??

Please see http://www.lcsmith.org/faq/buying.html Joe. "OK shape" may mean it's unshootable or unsafe, but sound barrels alone are worth well more than $150.

Yes, given it is truly in ok shape. Things to look at: are the locks operational (they cock, the fire, safety works), the barrels sound (not heavily pitted, not too thin from being honed, and rib is not loose), the action is on the face (tight), stock is sound (not oil soak softened, not cracked). It is a low price gun and not going to be mint, but should at least be shootable. Things you will need to check include the chambers to verify they really are 2 3/4 inch,

Dont know much about guns just really been getting in to them over the past year. But it seems to be in good tight shootable condition. Triggers work excellent.

Michael, I don't believe he stated the grade, so your comment about a "low priced gun" may be premature. I have paid thousands for a pre-13 gun, and got a bargain !
