Hi. Just read your thread after my Ellsie stock broke. This gun was my father's since 1929 (he paid $20 for it), and I had it restored in 95 by a guy in Illionis whose name I can't recall (should've had it done by Doug Turnbull since his wife and my brother's wife are best friends an' all). Anyway, when I had the gun restored and the stock extension my father used taken off, I discovered that the gun and I are "one." When it comes to clays, I can't hit a bull in the butt with it, but because of the instinctive nature of side-by-sides (Yes, I am a true believer in that), I am just plain deadly on real birds with it. So naturally, I'm not willing to give up on it yet. I've owned really expensive side-by-sides before, but nothing works in the field for me like this old Ellsie. The only thing I would want in its place would be another just like it! Okay. Enough of the jabbering. Is there a way to tell if your stock would fit my 1920-ish, very field grade, Hunter Arms Ellsie? If it's a match, and you haven't sold it yet, I'd really be interested. Thanks. Ed Lowery Phoenix
