72.85.16.235Many thanks to all that made todays shoot what it was.As close as I can tell we had about 48 folks present.There were 43 rounds of skeet,44 rounds of 5-stand,and 45 rounds of Sporting-Clays shot today.Skip had a tremendous gun display and we all thank him.People came from as far away as Michigan and New York state or maybe even farther.The club has been booked for next years spring shoot.Stay tuned for possible expansion or improvements to this shoot next year like maybe a get together dinner on Sunday evening at a location nearby for those coming in the day before and staying over night.Thanks again for everyones participation.Charlie. - Re: Annual Spring Shoot

205.188.116.208Kudos to Charlie Brooks. As a cheap Dutchman I would like to particularly note that the cost of this event was a fantastic bargain. A round of sporting clays for $10; a round of 5 stand for $5; a sumptuous, gourmet lunch of pork or beef prepared several delicious ways for $10. Plus there were free doughnuts when we arrived. Can we do this every month?

76.73.159.189You know Destry, I don't think a fine Setter like Tammy Jo would even sniff your trouser leg! All kidding aside, if someone wants to show up to a LCSCA event and bring a different breed of dog, the door is open. The real reason "that setter" is in the majority of the photos is because she attends the majority of the functions. Instead of whining about it here on the forum, take a few photos of your breed of choice while in the field with a Smith and post them here or email them to Jim to be added the to the photo gallery. Last I checked there were photos of a few Brittney Spaniels, Labs, and even an old German Shorthair on there. I can't remember who said it first on here but I will quote them as saying "Tis the empty kettle that rattles the most"!! - Re: Annual Spring Shoot

99.149.252.148I'm a setter man, and come from a long line of setter men. Though my father does have a brittany these days, and I don't have a bird dog anymore at all. But when there were still wild quail in Southern Illinois the Hoffard family shot over setters strickly.
