    Chuck,
    The weep hole is the small hole in the bottom rib just in front of the forend lug. It was drilled in the rib to allow any bluing solution trapped under the rib to drain out.
    the picture of the top of the barrels showing the inscription on the left barrel is a giveaway that the barrels were produced by Hunter before the Marlin takeover.
