    William it means that in 12 1/2" the taper would be 1 7/8". A 12 gauge chamber would be 2 3/4" long and at the end of this taper, which from the factory, measures .797. From this point to start of bore (.728) is where the forcing cone taper is. That taper would be .069 in that short of an area.
