    Our now departed member, Rich Byer, told me the same thing David posted; that he'd actually handled #100, and had seen other 28 gauge Smith guns around the Fulton area that had been employee guns. Rich said that #100 was built on the same 20 gauge FW frame Hunter used for twenty bore guns; that it had been a utility piece and was a bit battered when he had handled the piece (it still belonged to a Hunter family member when he located the gun). Rich said he'd cleaned the long neglected piece and left it with this individual; but I've no idea what may have happened to this gun since.
