    2017 Challenge Event Commemorative Shot Shells

    As many LC Smith vs Parker Challenge Event Attendees are aware, for the past several years the LCSCA has sponsored a shot shell promotion as a funds raiser to help offset expenses associated with our portion of Challenge Event. These shell box promotions have always been well-received by our membership; but to celebrate the Fourteenth Consecutive year of the LC Smith vs Parker Challenge Event, we are going “all out”! For 2017, and for the first time by any organization of which I’m aware, we are rolling back the clock 100 years. For 2017 we have actually replicated the look and feel of an authentic vintage styled two-piece hard cardboard shot shell box complete with a vintage styled wrap-around colorful label featuring vintage style graphics. And please don’t imagine for a Nano-second that we stopped our efforts there, for in replicating the full impact of our commemorative shell boxes we’ve also focused on box contents. Each box will contain 25 roll-crimped, 12 gauge red paper shells loaded with one ounce of No 7 1/2 chilled lead shot; and each shell will be individually stamped with the LC Smith Collectors logo.

    And although I can’t imagine anyone other than a “high-roller” (such as our esteemed Executive Director) actually shooting clays with these shells, please note that our LC Smith shells are specially loaded by RST to generate approximately 6000 PSI when fired, and will exit the muzzle with a velocity of approximately 1,100 feet/second. Therefore these shells are loaded to replicate vintage shot shell specifications, and will be perfectly safe to shoot in a vintage double gun in solid condition; to include those fitted with Damascus barrels.

    When one examines the attached label rendering, one will note this shell has been named “The Dominator”; and thusly named for a reason, as Team LC has “owned” Team Parker for the past four consecutive Challenge Events, which obviously is a big deal in the history of LCSCA achievements. But in spite of this fine record the LCSCA still can’t claim bragging rights, as Team Parker can make the identical claim: BUT neither Team has yet to claim FIVE WINS IN A ROW. That said, 2017 represents Team LC’s first chance ever to lay claim to absolute “Dominance”; and therefore in advance of our April 29, 2017 victory celebration whereby Team LC finally attains that milestone, this year’s shell box is aptly named “The Dominator”!

    Our supply of this one-time only commemorative offering is limited to 10 flats (100 boxes) to be sold on a first-come, first-served basis; and as we had sold out last year’s offering by early Saturday morning, please visit our Exhibition Tent as soon as possible to claim your box of shells. And if you can’t get there early, please have a friend purchase a box for you; as we have no plans to take orders and get involved with shipping.
