    Thank you for the information. Your description was very insightful. I was reading through my LC Smith book yesterday and wasn't able to find any significant reference to this 5 pin issue.

    Do you think this is standard wood for a OO or does it look better than standard? It is really pretty in real life and the checkering is beautiful. It is not freshly cut beautiful but just pure and elegant 112 years old. The colors on the frame are spectacular. There is a little bit of very minor pitting on and in the barrels, nothing that can't be addressed with a little elbow grease.

    Speaking of barrels, I love the 30" tubes on it, even if they might be choked a little tight for my needs. They swing very nicely and should do the trick for me this fall for ringnecks with a nice 2 1/2" #5 from RST.
