I have the opportunity to buy an 1883 Colt SXS in very good condition for a price less than 1500.00. I know nothing about the guns other than they were considered top of the line at the time. The gun in question has a very nice set of Damascus barrels, light engraving, mid and front ivory beads. It is a 12 ga. with 30 inch barrels. I will probably buy the gun, but wanted to here from those of you that are better versed in these Colts. I wont let it get to close to my LC's.
