The L C Smith Team won The Manufacture's Contest at RMSC shooting on the 5 Stand against the A H Fox Team and The Parker Team and The LeFever Team. If I recall correctly the LCS Team shot a 73 out of 125 and the A H Fox Team shot a 72 out of 125. This was a very very difficult 5 Stand. It was not fun to shoot. Hitting 11 or 12 or 13 targets out of 25 is not fun! A 73 out of 125 means that the average shooter hit less then 15 of the targets. If I recall correctly the PGCA Team shot at 62 out of 125. This means that their average shooter was hitting 12 or 13 targets out of 25 targets. I think I hit 11 of the 25 targets. It was not fun at all. Now the sporting clays course was wonderful. I only shot the 12 gauge and 10 gauge course which was the same course. There were two other sporting clays courses, a 20 gauge and 16 gauge course and a small bore course. I did not shoot those two courses. I only shot the 12 gauge hammerless and 12 gauge hammergun and 10 gauge hammerless events. Stations 16 and 17 on the big bore course were great stations. On station 16 one of the clay birds came off the cliff more then 99 feet above the shooter and more then 250 feet away from the shooter. There was no telling which way the wind would blow that target. It was great fun. At station 17 both clay birds came off of the cliff more then 99 feet above the shooter and more then 250 feet away. Now you had two clay birds to shoot at and the wind was pushing these birds all over the sky. This station was wonderful fun to shoot. After the 5 Stand Shootoff on Saturday RMSC served a wonderful Shooters Reception with great food. Taken as a whole this shoot at Rock Mountain Sporting Clays was just wonderful all the way around. Mike Koneski announced that this SXS shoot will be held on September 21-22-23-24 of 2017. I am planning to be here again in 2017. Overall this is a great shotgun shooting club. I should point out that there were some good scores posted on the 20 gauge and 16 gauge sporting clays course so that must have been a nice course that was fun to shoot. Good Shooting To You All, Jent
